R and R
Thursday, January 22, 2009
I know I know..... I bet ya'll thought I fell off the face of the earth and I kinda did! This past couple of months have been absolutely great! I have been able to spend more time at home than I have in about 5 years. It was much needed R and R! But it hasn’t been all fun and games. I’m going into the studio in February to do my third album. I’ve really been writing and concentrating on that. So if I have been neglecting keeping in touch that's the reason. Once I get the record done I'll be back into the swing of things. I have to say though I am missin' my fans, my band and the road a little!
I enjoyed the holidays so much. I got to spend a lot of time with my family and Blake's. We don't get to do much of that during the year and while we're touring. I got to hang out with Dixie and Molly too. I was home for a while in Lindale and then mom brought them up to the farm. She's let them get a little chubby but I guess that's ok. I guess that's what grandmas do.
All
the animals here are doing great. Shelly has grown into a cat now and is into
everything. She climbed up the Christmas tree!! That's when Blake said she needs
to live outside in her little kitty condo and just come inside sometimes. Much
better plan. Now she climbs up the horse’s tails and all kinds of stuff.
Crazy cat. Speaking of animals... there is yet another addition to old
McLamberts farm. Blake and I have some great friends from Kansas named Tom and
Jacque. They are team ropers and they had a beautiful horse that they wanted to
give to a good home because they didn't get to ride him enough. So... I got him!
He is a paint horse named Zeus Troubadour (after a Greek God and the God of
country, George Strait). He is 18 and the gentlest horse ever. I even put mom on
him and she hasn't ridden in years. Blake’s mom loves to ride as well and
he is great for anyone to jump on. He is supposed to sort of be Blake’s
horse but I think he is chicken!! I gotta get him a six pack to hang on his
saddle horn and maybe that will get him going!!
Kenny Chesney
anyone? Rum, Corona, and Kenny himself. What better way could a girl spend her
whole summer? I can’t wait until the tour starts. I am so pumped about
being out there with such great people. Kenny is the nicest guy ever and he
loves to hang, and Lady A are friends of mine so it won't take anytime for all
of us to click. And on top of it all Blake gets to go on tour with George! I
mean could this get any better? I am so proud of him lately. Its like he just
keeps getting better and better and the album Startin Fire's is the best one yet
in my opinion (might be a little prejudiced, but still). I think 2009 is his
year!
Well I can’t wait for the tour and the record and all
that stuff. Thanks for being patient with me! Love ya’ll. See you on the
road in 2009.
ML
Don’t forget…. love a
shelter pet.

First of all, I love your new song " More Like Her"!
I am so proud of you and Blake! I love listening to yours and his songs. I agree that Startin' Fires is his best.
I enjoyed the "Origins Special" that GAC aired which featured you. I recorded it on my DVR and I have not deleted it yet. I found it very inspirational. I just love your songs. Keep up the good work!
I recently saw you and Blake at the Grand Ole Opry on Jan. 10. I wish he could of sang more songs. I love the "Home' Song and his newest song"She Wouldn't be Gone".
Hope to see ya'll this summer!

Life has a way of flying by and before you know it you wonder how you got to be a certain age so fast. I say this with my Grandson of 9 months on one knee and his big brother, 21 months on my other knee, which I babysit four days a week and just love, and work on our farm part time. Life is good when you can spend time with family. Looking forward to seeing you on the road this year. This Grandma loves your music. This year will be the best. Love to all of your family.
