One of my best friends and I share an undying, unconditional love for Miranda Lambert and her music. We have both been loyal and faithful fans since the beginning of Nashville Star. Miranda won my heart wth her bad-ass attitude, her real-life lyrics and her pink guitar. I have never felt so close to an artist as I do to her. Every song on every CD, even songs she sang on Nashville Star have found their way into my heart.
Courtney & I attend Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. A while ago, we discovered that Miranda's dad was a member of a fraternity here, and we nearly died. Ever since that moment, we have tracked Miranda anytime she is within 200 miles of Nac. We have travelled to Billy Bob's, the State Fair, even Louisiana. Anytime she is near, we make sure to go see her.
One weekend, we decided we wanted to somehow get closer to what Miranda was actually talking about when she was talking about various places in her songs. We took a road trip down to Lindale, Miranda's hometown, which is only about 90 miles from Nacogdoches. Every time we pass through Lindale, we stop. While we were in Tyler, we made it our personal mission to find County Road 233.
I wish we had a video of when we came across C.R. 233. We were SCREAMING at the top of our lungs, and it was so surreal. We couldn't believe we were actually there. We took tons of pictures, and once we had enough of those, we made our way home. On our way back, we ALSO came across TurnerTown. We nearly died. We couldn't believe we came across two things she actually sang about, and here we were in real life.
2 years ago, I went through an extremely rough break up with my extremely abusive boyfriend of 3 years. The only way I got through this was with the album (brand new at the time) Kerosene. I don't know how many times I played "Love Your Memory," wondering if Miranda herself had too gone through such hardships and gotten through them with great success. This made each day a little easier and a little brighter.
After meeting Miranda twice and seeing what a big heart she has and how down to earth she was, I knew in my heart it would be a piece of cake to make it through these hard times as long as I had Miranda's music. I am forver in her debt for helping me through since hard times gracefully.
So, thank you Miranda for helping so many people through such hard times, and not judging us crazy fans
