Nashville's Outlaw Hottie Sticks To Her Guns
By: Will Hermes
With her third record, Miranda Lambert remains country's most refreshing act, and not just because she makes firearms seem like a matter-of-fact female accessory. The playlist is her most varied yet: "Airstream Song" is a string-band dropout fantasy that includes a nod to fellow "red-dirt-girl" Emmylou Harris, while a redneck-surrealist cover of John Prine's "That's The Way That The World Goes Round" rocks enough to get the girl booked at Lollapalooza. Lambert's Second Amendment talk goes beyond posturing: "Time To Get A Gun" (by Fred Eaglesmith) is more about working-class powerlessness then being trigger-happy. And on "Maintain The Pain" she shoots her car radio. Hey Nashville: What d'ya think she's sayin' there?

Key tracks: "Airstream Song" and "White Liar" ?

The 25-year-old expands her vision beyond shooting/burning down stuff, and makes a glorious leap into maturity. She's found stylistic shades of songwriters twice her age, while maintaining her own bratty Texan flair. With themes of sin and forgiveness, regret and acceptance, loss and grown-up love, Revolution is a portrait of an artist in full possession of her powers, and the best mainstream-country album so far this year.

I met Miranda for the first time in November 2006. I knew when I first saw her on Nashville Star she was going to be a huge success. She has a talent that is one of a kind and finally Nashville and the critics are starting to see what we all see in Miranda. I know one day she will have her place in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Way to go Ran...I cannot wait till next Thursday to purchase my copy of Revolution!

Miranda is my inspiration! I wish she was a spokes person for domestic violence & change some things in this messed up system! You don't see many famous ppl do that! Her songs alone make a point when it comes to that! Anyhow, I love her and feel we should have been sisters! White Liar, Only Prettier, Dead Flowers, and Love Song are wonderful songs. Its going to be a great album and it just seems that Miranda just keeps getting better!

THESE SONGS ARE SO AMAZING AND SO ROCKING!

THERE ARE SOME SONGS ON HERE THAT THE RAMONES & GUNS 'N ROSES WOULD BE JEALOUS TO HAVE DONE.

THE ONLY COUNTRY ARTIST FOR ME RIGHT NOW.

ABSOLUTELY ROCKS AND PLEASES START TO FINISH.

CANNOT THANK HER ENOUGH FOR THIS MUSIC.

She's sayin' a change is gonna come and it's about dayum time! Listen up Na$hville.

It's the same old tune, fiddle and guitar
Where do we take it from here
Rhinestone suits and new shiny cars
We've been the same way for years
We need to change
