Miranda
Lambert’s New Video For "Only Prettier" To Premiere On VEVO August
3rd
After sitting pretty on the country charts with her
record breaking four-week #1 single, “The House That Built Me,”
Miranda Lambert is laying on the southern charm with her sassy anthem and new
single, “Only Prettier.” The video for this tongue-in-cheek
commentary about mean-girl cattiness will make its world premiere on VEVO August
3rd at 12AM ET with a 48 hour exclusive. The “Only Prettier”
video will be available on all media outlets beginning August 5.
The “Only Prettier” video will be available across the VEVO
platform, which includes VEVO.com, VEVO on YouTube and the destinations where
VEVO powers music video such as AOL and CBS Interactive Music Group’s
sites.
Directed by Trey Fanjoy, the video was shot against a 1950’s rockabilly
backdrop at a middle school gymnasium in Joelton, TN. Lambert asked
friends Kellie Pickler, Laura Bell Bundy and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary
Scott to join her in a mini-movie as two rival cliques of girls attend a high
school sock hop.
“Only Prettier” is the
fourth release from her critically acclaimed third
album, Revolution, and follows her four-week #1 “House That
Built Me,” as well as her first career #1 single “White
Liar.”
This fall Lambert is headlining “CMT On
Tour: Miranda Lambert REVOLUTION.” The nationwide tour which crosses
28 cities and includes special guests Eric Church and Josh Kelley will kick off
on the one-year anniversary of the release of her
album Revolution on September 29 in New York City.
A three-time GRAMMY® nominee, platinum-selling recording
artist and hit singer/songwriter, Miranda Lambert recently received her first
CMT Award, following a year of impressive accolades. The fan-voted CMT Award for
Female Video of the Year joins Miranda’s recent ACM wins for Album of the
Year (Revolution), Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year
(“White Liar”).
Revolution has quickly surpassed the Gold sales mark
after debuting at #1 on Billboard's Country Album Charts, making her one of four
artists in country music history whose first three albums landed the top
position right out of the box. It has received rare perfect reviews from
countless publications including four stars from Rolling Stone and USA Today, an
'A' from Entertainment Weekly and exuberant praise from the New York Times,
SPIN, the Washington Post and more. Many have
proclaimed Revolution to be the "Best Album of the Year" in
any genre including Entertainment Weekly, the Houston Chronicle and NPR's All
Things Considered.
